Dawn Thandeka King wants her prize money from the organisers of the KZN Entertainment Awards. The DiepCity star bagged the Best Actress award in December last year but only received the trophy; and now she wants her bag.
Thandeka slammed the organisers for not paying her R100 000 that was supposed to accompany the award. The agitated award-winning thespian said she has only received R20 000 0f the money.
The awards were held in December 2020 at the ICC in Durban but organisers of the glittering event have reportedly failed to pay the winners. Thandeka also said one of the organisers, Mhlo Gumede, had promised to give her R50 000 when her father passed away recently but only deposited R20 000. Thandeka wants Mhlo to pay her the rest of the money now.
This event happened moths back, but even the likes of Sjava, Nomcebo Zikode, Khuzani and many others who were promised thousands of rands when they bagged some of the categories during the event, have not been payed yet.
