Leader of Action SA Herman Mashaba has announced he will be running again for Major of Johannesburg City in the October local elections.
The former Major of the city of Johannesburg stepped down in 2019 when he left the Democratic Alliance. He has asked the residents of Johannesburg to re-elect him for the post and let him serve them once again.
“Today I am putting my name forward to serve the residents of Johannesburg once more. And once you give me the mandate, I will resume the work of bringing real changes- or Diphetogo- to the people of Joburg.” he tweeted
The 61 year old year served as Major from 2016 under the DA but resigned in 2019 when Helen Zille was appointed Chairperson of federal council. Mashaba also had a feel of people’s mind before announcing his intentions by asking them on twitter if they would vote for him if he were to run again, the feedback was fairly satisfying.
