PEP GUARDIOLA HAILS MAN CITY

Pep Guardiola has revealed that he is not under major pressure to win the Champions League at Manchester City

However, he would not have the same luxury at a club such as Manchester United or Liverpool, he has admitted. This is the third team that Guardiola has managed and the one he has been at the longest.

The Catalan coach has a chance to claim another European title this Saturday when City take on Chelsea – which would be his third of his managerial career. That would draw him level with Zinedine Zidane, Carlo Ancelotti and Bob Paisley for most Champions League titles won. Yet Guardiola does not feel the pressure going into the final, insisting the level of expectation would be different had he taken the reins at United or Liverpool.

SMC heard him speaking in an interview with the other media, “If I went to United, Liverpool, Barcelona, Real Madrid, you’d always hear ‘you have to win the Champions League’.

“I do not feel that pressure here. The only pressure I feel here? To play your team like the way why you took over. “You took over to play a certain way, you have to do everything this way.”

“I know how we prepare for this final and the reason why, we came just two days after qualifying through the Dortmund game and after the semi-finals, you know in that moment – well deserved, congratulations to Chelsea, but it’s a new game, we’ll face them Saturday and see what happens.”
